A few weeks ago I was spending some time outside, far away from my home but still in Poland. I was walking around quite bored but I saw a abandoned house for sale. It was strictly forbitten to go there but of course I did wander around at least. I didn't go inside because every entrance was locked. But I saw some old furfuniture through windows and old electronics (not much). Some more interesting were: a rotary dial phone from the 90s, a broken CRT TV, and device with torn out cables that I didn't recognize. But the peak was when I went to the garage. I was quite shocked when I saw this but very happy that I had sthe opportunity to saw this in 'wild'. Very rare these days! Old cars like this were collected from all over the country long ago by vintage car enthusiasts. I would have expected that if I were to find something like this out in the wild, it would be a complete, crumbling wreck, but look at this. What a beautiful car! I wish I could proudly drive one like this to school. I hope that someday in the future, an enthusiast will take care of this car, rather than letting it fall apart over the years. I'd like it to be me, but of course I can't take it.

I was also up in my family's attic. I remembered there was an old 'Promyk' radio from the 60s up there. I brought it downstairs and took a look at it. I feel bad because I don't know much about electronics. But somehow I can't bring myself to start working on it, even though I'd really like to. Still, that doesn't stop me from admiring the inner workings of electronic devices. I feel so much happier when I look at those old circuits... and, of course, the vacuum tubes... ahhh

I also found a CRT monitor in the attic. One of my family members told me that he turned it on and used it for a while, but he heard some crackling sounds, and then a little smoke started coming out of it... I figured it was just dust and decided to check it out. I don't think anyone has opened that monitor in 20 years, so I'm not surprised.
I was cleaning it with a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment and a flat brush to reach deep inside. Before and after:

Ugly.. Blaaahhhhh

Pretty!! Nyaaan

I was quite excited to turn it on but the feeling quickly fade away lol. This monitor isn't anything special. It wasn't even that great back then. When I turned it on, I could hear a high-pitched squeal even when nothing was showing on the screen. It gave me a pretty strange and unpleasant sensation in my head. When I plugged it into my computer, it started squealing even more. The display was awful low quality and when I looked at it, my eyes really hurt, and the squeaking made me want to throw up. When I asked someone older if they could hear it, none of the adults could. Younger people probably have better hearing. But I really feel sorry for people from the 70s to the 2000s who had to use those CRTs. Because of them, a lot of people ruined their eyesight, and honestly, most of them were pretty crappy. It seems to me that they only started making really good CRTs toward the end of their lifespan, when LCDs were already taking over anyway. Just like currently with HDDs
